The most talented singers ever!

I believe that singers from my country are so damn talented it’s ridiculous already. To name a few, we have Regine Velazquez, Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Sarah Geronimo, Jaya, Rachelle Ann Go, Gary Valenciano, and Charice- and these people have become such household names! We see them every Sunday on their respective variety shows and I kid you not, watching them makes me prouder that I am Filipino.

We could be one of the countries in the world that are so addicted to singing competitions, not that there’s anything wrong with it but this is where we discover great talent! It’s probably the most accessible form of having someone to break out in the industry, and I believe that some people are just too gifted to not be a star. Here are some of the talent I’m talking about!

Lani Misalucha, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Angeline Quinto and Sarah Geronimo from ASAP singing a Whitney Houston medley! I’m speechless.

Now, songs from the UK! The cast of Party Pilipinas includes (in order of performance) Kyla, Jaya, Jay-R Sillona, Kris Lawrence, Maricris Garcia, Gian Magdangal, Mark Bautista, Frencheska Farr, Julieanne San Jose, Krizza Neri, Rachelle Ann Go, and Jonalyn Viray. This show used to be my addiction every Sunday, it had the best segments when it came to singing portions! Showcasing the best of the best! So bummed out that they don’t feature this anymore on the new show Sunday All Stars:(

Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo Manalac from ASAP singing “Just Give Me A Reason” by Pink and Nate Ruess. Sarah was discovered through a talent competition hosted by Regine Velasquez, and since then she proved that she was born to be a star! Projects here and there, she is definitely one of my favorites. Bamboo Manalac was the frontman of the band called Bamboo, which was one of the most followed Pinoy acts due to their rock flavor and the amazingly written songs they perform.

A duet of “Right Here Waiting” by Regine Velasquez and Jaya Ramsey. These two divas are mainstays of the Sunday variety shows on GMA and one thing they have proven is longevity. They are just so spectacular in every sense of the word.

These 3 girls are so incredible. They form the group called La Diva. Aicelle Santos, Maricris Garcia and Jonalyn Viray are products of a singing competition, and while each of them have their own styles, they show how versatile they are as they blend perfectly together!

Julie Anne San Jose is also a mainstay to GMA’s Sunday variety shows. She is quickly becoming the next best thing out there. She can rap, dance, sing, act, and not to mention look absolutely fierce while doing it. It’s no wonder why I have a crush on her ❤

I would post more videos but I fear that I may get carried away! I just wanted to share how amazingly gifted Filipino singers are and I hope by watching this video you have an idea that it’s one of the amazing things we could offer the world!

Spring Music

Winter is over and we’re done with the melancholic tunes! Springtime suggests a slew of catchy, upbeat tracks to liven everyone’s days and get us into the groove as we get longer days and more time to enjoy the outdoors (did that just sound like a brochure?)  So here are some of the songs I’d like to share (these are my current favorites)

Justin Timberlake- MIRRORS

Movie Trailer: THE MISTRESS

First things first, I love this on-screen couple, I believe they pull in millions & millions of fans, viewers, potential stalkers and of course, money whenever they make a project. Bea & John Lloyd could be everyone’s guilty pleasure because they’re damn good actors. I first saw their awesomeness when I saw One More Chance with my high school classmates back in ’07, then for a while they did a remake of the Mexican telenovela called Betty La Fea, that was in 2008. They made another comeback movie called Miss You Like Crazy which was amazing again, it was back in 2010, February 14 weekend, it sold like hotcakes. Then here they go again starring in another movie, which I think is a pretty decent gap from the last one they made. It’s a risk that Bea took to actually land this role because we always see this smart, sweet, sometimes sassy character out of her & she doesn’t fail to deliver when it comes to dramatic scenes. This one is very different, she plays what seems like the character you will hate, but I believe she will make us fall in love with her vulnerability. On the other hand, John Lloyd has been names box office king for many years now, I mean we all know why. He rakes in millions of pesos on opening weekends of movies he stars in even if he’s paired up with another leading lady. He’s one hell of an actor too by the way. I just idolize both these 2 and I will make sure I watch this movie, veteran actors Ronaldo Valdez & Hilda Koronel also star.
